On the right can be seen our hire aircraft, a Mainair Sports Blade 912 two-seater. This aircraft is principally for the use of students once they have reached solo standard, (suitably ballasted!) so that they can complete all the solo flying requirements for the Microlight NPPL. Of course, it is also available for any qualified pilots to hire (with or without passengers) so that they can fly from La Baule without having to bring an aircraft of their own with them.
The hire price for the aircraft is very competitive at 99€/hr including fuel, oil, all other consumables and third-party insurance. If holidaying here and wanting to hire our aircraft, don't forget to bring your licence, medical certificate and log book. A check flight of 30mins will also be required with our instructor before hiring, cost 65€ . Payment can be made by cash, or by Credit/Debit Card. The instrumentation consists of an airspeed indicator, altimeter, VSI, compass, water temp guage, tachometer and oil temp gauge. A 760-channel radio transceiver is also fitted to the aircraft, charged by the aircraft's 12V system. The Blade 912 is equipped with a 4-stroke engine of 80hp. Two-up, it can climb at 900feet per min, while solo (ballasted) it can climb at 1200ft/min, with level flight speeds from 40-80mph. It can reach heights of over 10,000ft. Having two fuel tanks with a total capacity of 46litres, the Blade has a safe flying time of 5hrs and a still-air range of 250 miles.
